Keeping it Old-Fashioned

The Old Fashion Italian Deli is a delicious, family-owned restaurant just west of LHS down Littleton Blvd and on the right. By car, it takes less than 5 minutes to get there and by foot, if you’re quick, you can make it in under ten minutes. When you walk through the doors, the aroma of homemade pizza makes the taste buds tingle. An array of Marilyn Monroe pictures greet customers at every turn and contribute to the uniqueness of the restaurant. Interestingly enough, all of these works of art were donated by pleased customers. The restaurant has been family owned and operated since 1986. When hungry awaiting customers enter the restaurant, they are greeted by the family members’ smiles, delighted to indulge another person in their tasty pizza, sandwiches and famous pasta salad.

The Italian Deli serves up all these delectables plus more. They make an array of desserts fresh everyday so one can never know what to expect. A common sweet treat is the plain cheesecake which hits the spot every time. An original creation of theirs is the famous Godfather. It is a sandwich loaded with capicola and salami plus cheddar, provolone, and mozzarella cheese. Topped off with fresh tomatoes, onions, peppers, and mayo, it is served on a hoagie bun and drizzled with Italian dressing.

As a simple person, I get a slice of pepperoni pizza every time I go and watch them make it right in front of me. All pizza is topped with provolone, parmesan and romano cheese and is just $2.25 a slice. This is a small price to pay for a slice of pizza that is bigger than the plate. Italian Deli is a bang for your buck. If you are searching for a hearty delicious slice of pizza to mix up your lunch options, head on down to the Old Fashioned Italian Deli.
