Defining our lives: Yesy Silva

“The happiest [times] would be anytime I hang out with my mom because I don’t see her for eight months of the year. I only get three months with her. She lives in Mexico. I try to make the best of it. The saddest [time] is when I have to come back.  She understands me, unlike my dad. I lived in Mexico for a year and four months. School there is pretty bad, to get to my middle school took an hour and a half, and then to get to the high school took almost two hours. Driving was hard because, you know, gas prices, and I didn’t have anybody to take me. So that’s one of the reasons I moved.”
