LHS volleyball defeats Lincoln

Tonight, Thursday September 17, the LHS Varsity volleyball team took on the Abraham Lincoln Lancers. LHS started out very strong, winning the first game, 25 to 6.

The Lions kept the momentum going with the support of the great crowd due to it being Homecoming week. They took the win in the second game against the Lancers, 25 to 7.

“It was really fun, we played well as a team,” said senior Mikalen Cox, “ We were really loud which was what we were trying to do and work on,”

Being loud certainly helped lead the team to victory in the third game, defeating the Lancers by a score of 25 to 9.   Lincoln challenged the Lions a bit more in the third game, but LHS didn’t back down and took the win. There is no doubt the team’s strong team spirit and encouragement of one another contributed to the win.

“We all lift each other up even when we make mistakes,” said Cox.

It was a very exciting and rewarding game for the LHS by beating Lincoln in three straight games. The Lions’ next home game is Monday, September 21 at 6:30PM versus Pueblo Central.
