Flan is a tasty desert and the addition of a dollop of cream cheese makes it ever much more interesting. The recipe for cream cheese flan is one that it sure to please the taste buds. It is creamy and just the right amount of sweet. This dessert tastes like a delectable mix between custard and cheesecake with a caramel drizzle.
The recipe is easy to make and only calls for 6 ingredients.
3⁄4 cup of sugar
1 (14 ounce) can of evaporated milk
1 (12 fluid ounce) can of sweetened condensed milk
1 (8 ounce) package of cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Begin by preheating the oven to 350 and then continuing on to melting the sugar in a sauce pan on the stove until golden brown. Once a carmel color pour the sugar into a pottery or pie plan. Then mix the evaporated milk, condensed milk, cream cheese, eggs and vanilla in a bowl until a smooth consistency. Pour the mixture over the sugar.
Next it gets a little tricky. You fill a larger pan with one inch of water and then place the pan with the ingredients into the water submerged but not touching the bottom. Bake the two pans for 1 hour and 20 to 30 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean then you can remove flan from hot water.
The last step is waiting for the delicious dish. Refrigerate the flan overnight and then serve and enjoy!
