Films for the Holiday Season

Let’s be honest, December 1 is the start of holidays. So, it’s never too soon to break out all of the best holiday films and enjoy them with family and friends. Below is a list of some of the best films to watch this holiday season.

  1. “Elf” (2003)- Elf follows the adventure of a human man who was raised by elves. Buddy the Elf (Will Ferrell) goes to New York City in search of his father. The movie has an extremely entertaining plot which is both hilarious and touching. This movie is a great Christmas film that is good for the whole family.
  2. “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” (1989)- Christmas Vacation is about a family Christmas gone completely wrong. Most can relate to the disasters that occur in this film when trying to have a nice family holiday.
  3. “A Christmas Story” (1983)- The hilarious story of Ralphie Parker is a Christmas classic and should be added to any person’s Christmas watch list. Most people can sympathize with young Ralphie, wanting the perfect gift, avoiding a bully and trying to get along with his cranky dad and his overly affectionate mom.
  4. “The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)- The story of the King of Halloweentown stumbling upon Christmastown adds a creepy aspect to Christmas when Halloweentown tries creating their own Christmas. Not only does this film have an original concept to the traditional Christmas film, Tim Burton’s incredible claymation also makes this film worth watching this season.
