LHS Lacrosse falls to Heritage in first game of the season

On Saturday, March 12, the LHS lacrosse team played the Heritage Eagles in the first game of the season. Although the score was 6-14, the Lions played hard.

“I believe the score didn’t really reflect how we played and I think it could have been a much closer game if we were able to capitalize on our opportunities,” said senior Morgan Harris.

Seniors Nathan Gothard and Donovan Crabtree both scored three goals.

The loss was especially hard on the Lions since the game was against Heritage. Since it was a home game for Heritage, students from both schools showed up to support the teams.

“It is always disappointing to lose in a rival game, and since I have a lot of buddies on that team, they will rub it in a little like we did last year to them,” said Harris.

Although this was a tough loss for LHS, the team is looking forward to the rest of the season, and hopes to win more games.

“I believe that we have a great team this year so hopefully we can recover from this game and get some wins,” said Harris.

The Lions will be playing their next game at Thompson Valley high school next Tuesday, March 15.
