Five teams represented LHS DECA this week at nationals in Nashville, Tennessee. Two teams competed in written events while the other three competed in role-play events. All teams did their best against the fierce competition and made a name for LHS DECA at nationals.
Junior Alex Thompson and senior Callie Brewster advanced to finals in business growth plan and got the chance to earn a national title. Teams from all over the nation and even some international teams compete at this conference, making the competition the toughest LHS DECA will see this year. All LHS teams represented not only our school, but our state as only the top in the state are able to advance to nationals.
The DECA teams were also able to explore Nashville when not competing or attending workshops. They spent a lot of time on Broadway getting to know the city and trying a variety of foods. They biked around the city for a few hours, exploring everything they wanted to know about Nashville, and were even able to watch a Duck’s hockey game.
Overall the weekend was a great chance for bonding and learning about a new city. The teams were able to make a name for LHS on a national level and scope out their competition for next year!
