Lions baseball shines for Senior Night

The LHS Varsity Baseball team dominated tonight against the Standley Lake Gators on their Senior Night. Before the game started, the team honored all of the seniors and all their work for the team. Senior members included Sam Simonton, Scott Corwin, Scott Robb, Dylan Nickless, Sam Schroer, Ivan Buss, Ian Sukle, Enrique Duran, Ben Horvat and David Levine, as well as senior managers Madeleine El Jammal, Kendall Pruit and Xavier Hose.

The Lions controlled the game from the outset. After a first pitch home run in the first inning, the Gators didn’t score again until the sixth. Sophomore Nick Caswell started the team with a line drive base hit, and the Lions took off from there. Throughout the game RBIs and base hits came from the whole lineup.

The game only went for seven innings as LHS batted in enough runs to mercy rule the Gators. The game ended with a double play from first baseman Ben Horvat with a final score of 8-2 for the Lions.

The boys play again next Monday for their last game against Ponderosa.
