On Tuesday May 12 and Saturday May 14, the LHS track and field team competed at the Jeffco 4A league meet. This was a big meet for the Lions as it was the final one before the state meet begins. Many Lions had favorable outcomes, junior Kaysha Kacanda placed sixth in the girls 100 meter dash and second in the long jump. The girls 4×100 relay finished in third place and sophomore Brittany Line placed first in the girls shot put. Many LHS competitors got season best times in this league meet, including sophomore Addi Iken who placed third in the 3200 meter run and sixth in 1600 meter run.
As for boys, sophomore Charlie Meserve was fourth in the 400 meter dash while senior Colin Cannon dominated long distance by finishing first and second in the boys 1600 meter run and 3200 meter run. Both the girls and boys teams finished sixth out of ten and those heading to state will start competing on Thursday, May 19.
