Lions Football fights it out against Vista Ridge

Friday night, the varsity football team had their last home game against Vista Ridge. The game resulted in a tough loss with the final score being 0-62.

During second quarter, the mercy rule was invoked, meaning no timeouts were called.

Despite a tough game over fall break, the audience was mostly full of loyal fans who came to support their hardworking football team.

Because it was the last home footballl game, it was also senior night for football, cheer, poms and band. The foot ball team celebrated their seniors by showing off boards full of pictures of the boys from all stages of their lives. The band honored their seniors by allowing them to play the national anthem for the audience. The poms and cheer teams honored their seniors by making signs and placing their seniors in the front for routines.

The football team has had a hard season this year. But despite having several losses, the team looks back on their season high lights.

“My favorite moment of the football season was getting 3 sacks against Golden” said senior Victor Mendoza

No matter how many games are lost, the hard work and dedication is what really defines a team.

“I’m proud of the work we’ve done” said Mendoza

Congratulations to the football team for their hard work this season. img_0864 img_0866 img_0868
