Yesterday, people of all grades came out to participate in the International Week 4 on 4 soccer tournament. The teams were ‘representing’ Lithuania, Nauru, Georgia, and Colombia. The tournament was co-ed teams of around 6 people each. Each team played four games that lasted 15 minutes, 5 points allowing a team to win and move on in the bracket.
“It was awesome to see people of all grades come out with their friends and compete,” said senior Nick Castle.
Every team put up a fight, but Team Lithuania proved their skill to be on top. The team was seniors Katie Roskam, Nick Castle, Deagan Malloy, Lauren Weiss and juniors Zach Maguire and Sarah Grey. Lithuania was put up against every team and went undefeated.
Leaders of the team included Sarah Grey and Lauren Weiss, making many of the team’s goals. In addition, after an injury during fall soccer season, senior Nick Castle came back good as new.
“It was a great balance of fun and competitive. The soccer tournament is definitely my favorite part of International Week,” said senior Deagan Malloy.
Coach Terry Banfield led the four teams yesterday in a competitive but friendly soccer tournament and looks forward to continue the tradition for years to come.
