Lady lion basketball defeats rival Heritage for the fifth season in a row

Last night in the LHS gym the girls basketball team beat the Heritage Eagles for the fifth consecutive season. The match was hard fought and action packed. The girls won handedly finishing with 45 points on the board. The final score of the game was 45-27.

The team truly played as a whole last night as they dominated the scoreboard all throughout the game. Overall, the team had 40 total rebounds with  junior Bekah Sandstrom dominating the rebound game with an impressive 14 total rebounds. The team also had 15 total steals, many finishing with points. Junior Katie Puchino scored the most point for the team last night with a total of 14.

“The game against heritage was a really great team win. We knew it was gonna be crazy so we just had to focus and play in the moment” said senior Mae Cosgrove.

The girls currently have a 4-2 record and are looking forward to a promising season. Last night the team looked strong and ready to fight their way to the top throughout the season.

“I think we have great cohesion and fundamentals as a team, everyone plays their hardest for each other and to win! I think that we have the ability to have a great season and make it far in the playoffs!” said senior Maddie Fuchs.
