Lady Lion Fish have sucsess at Coaches Invitational

On Saturday December 17, the Lady Lion Fish sent four swimmers and one diver to Coaches Invitational. Swimming were seniors Emily Sanders and Sarah Fantle, and juniors Reganne Fornstrom and Lydia VanKooten. And Marina Cannon was the diver that the LLF had qualify for the competition.

Coaches Invitation is a meet that has qualification requirements. There are requirements because schools from both 3A, 4A, and 5A attend and having specific time and diving standards is necessary to keep the amount of participants at the meet as small as possible.

The LLF swimmers had a great meet with many new state cuts and time cuts. VanKooten went personal best times in the 200 Freestyle and the 50 Freestyle. Fornstrom went personal bests in the 100 Butterfly and 200 IM; she made state in her 200 IM and missed state by one one-tenth of a second in her 100 Butterfly. Fantle swam just off her personal best times and is very close to state in the 100 Freestyle and 200 Freestyle. Sanders swam the 100 Backstroke and qualified for state. Not only did the ladies have great individual swims, but the 200 Medley relay cut off three seconds and the 200 Free Relay took off a whopping five seconds.

Cannon dove for her first time at an eleven dive meet. Meaning the first five dives are prelims and from then on divers get eliminated until they get to eleven dives. She struggled to get some dives in, but overall had a great meet.
Overall, the swimmers and diver had a pretty successful meet and will keep training hard for the rest of the season.
