Lady Lion Fish compete hard against D’Evelyn and Evergreen

Yesterday afternoon, Lady Lion Fish swam in their last regular season meet before league against both Evergreen and D’Evelyn. Littleton finished third in the meet with a score of 183 points, losing by 47 points to the winning team, D’Evelyn.

Despite the loss the team faced, there were some strong individual performances. Junior Reganne Fornstrom swam a fast 100m fly (only a half a second away from the state qualifying time). Also, junior Lydia VanKooten swam a strong 200m IM/ 500m freestyle. Furthermore, seniors Emily Sanders and Sarah Fantle received good times in their events.

“It was a difficult meet for the team because D’Evelyn and Green Mountain have a lot of fast swimmers. We hung in there though and a bunch of people had great swims,” said Fornstrom.

Qualifiers so far for state include VanKooten, Sanders, Fantle, Fornstrom, and diver, senior Marina Cannon.

Additionally, last night was senior night. Senior night is a tradition amongst almost every sport at LHS and is a fun way to honor seniors and celebrate their finishing a final season of that high school sport. Seniors were escorted by their parents around the pool to a special balloon arch where they were able to take pictures. An announcer shared each senior’s names, graduation plans and favorite swim memory. A fun tradition for Littleton girls is going to Red Robin after the meet for some dinner.

“It was nice to have all my hard work over the last four years being recognized,” said senior Josie Mottram.

Overall, the girls swam very hard last night and are excited for league coming up next week.
