On Saturday, March 11th, the Littleton High School track team had their first meet of the season. Despite the rainy weather, the meet went well.
As a whole, the team did really well. Many people had some personal bests, and several relay times were close to the best times the team had last year.
The girls placed 12th out of 24 teams, and the boys placed 18th out of 24. Some of the teams competing were Denver Christian, D´Evalen, Fort Collins and Lutheran. This was exciting for the team, and even though its early in the season, they are already starting to build a great connection as a team.
¨I think as the season progresses, the team will grow more and more as a family. We are always there for each other , and I think that bond will strengthen¨ said senior Kaysha Kacanda
There is a huge range of students on the track team this year. For some, it is their first time ever competing on a track team. For others, it is their fourth and final year.
¨It feels good (to be a senior) if I´m being honest. A lot of the underclassmen look up to you, and it is nice to be a role model to them in some way¨ said Kacanda
The track team is very diverse and has no shortage of talent. Littleton can expect big things from them in this upcoming season.
