This afternoon, girls tennis took on the Lakewood Tigers and won every match. Many of the teams won by large margins and 3/4 doubles each played close matches, but came away with the win due to strong attacks.
“Our match was a good start to our season. What worked well was us coming into the net and volleying more. We just want to improve consistency and our of use of power in our game,” said number two doubles player Tian McGuire.
This win is great for the team and their confidence as they have a fairly new roster compared to last season and new pairings or positions. This year, junior Reganne Fornstrom is number one singles followed by number 2 singles, sophomore Gretchen Schooleman. Many new faces have joined as well and the team has been working very hard to improve their skills for this season and become acquainted with each other.
They face a tough Arapahoe team on Tuesday that should really test their skills, but the Lions are prepared and should be on their way to a successful season.
