Yesterday, NHS had one of its final service projects for the year. They decorated brown paper bags in patriotic and uplifting themes for Meals on Wheels’ distribution of food to veterans on Memorial Day. Some of the bags that were decorated were decorated by seniors in their seminar classes.
The work was simple: put patriotic symbols and decorations on the paper bags, then they will be given to Meals on Wheels and used to distribute the meals that are given to the veterans on Memorial Day. There were around 20 NHS members in attendance decorating the bags.
“I just really like this project, it is a good way to give back to people who have served in the armed forces. It is also really easy for busy students during the tests that are in full force now,” said junior Ben Morris.
