On Saturday afternoon, LHS students from Key Club, Student Council and National Honor Society volunteered at Mark Twain Elementary School’s Fall Festival. Many students volunteered last year and this is just their second year holding a carnival. However, both years have been great successes.
Students helped run an assortment of games including the ring and football toss, bowling and a cake walk. Their mascot, the tiger, made an appearance as well. Despite the weather being extremely hot, most students enjoyed the experience.
“There were more people that came out this year and it was a lot of fun because the kids were so excited to play the games,” said senior Kellie Roth.
The festival was complete with bouncy houses, a raffle and cotton candy. The volunteers also received free food, which contributed to an all in all great experience for the LHS volunteers.
