Students qualify for nationals at ThesCon

One Friday, December 8th, and Saturday, December 9th, the students in Thespian Troop 83 traveled to the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver to perform in the Thespian Conference.

The students performed very well, as many of them qualified. This includes Alex Green, Avery Zieper, Harmony Slenkard, Hannah Pederson, Grace Crabb, Turner DeShon, Makayla Mcloughlin, Aaron Nice, Priya Kearns, Leah Thorp, Bella Hawthorne and Cay Zee.

“I am really proud as to how we all performed on Friday. I think our love of the theater and for our school helped inspire our performances,” said senior Avery Zieper.

Not only did many students qualify for nationals, but Hawthorne’s piece was selected as one of the top five Individual Events out of hundreds of participants. Because of this, she got to perform at the closing ceremonies. Her piece was the entertaining song she performed at Lions’ Follies entitled “Velociraptor.”

“I am so happy for Bella. Her piece was so funny and creative and her voice was amazing,” said Zieper.
