Unified basketball wins game against Englewood

Today, the Littleton Unified basketball team traveled to Colorado’s Finest High School to play against the Englewood Pirates. They played a strong and close game, defeating the Englewood team with a final score of 34-28.

The lions started off strong in the first quarter with a lead of 10-4. The Englewood pirates brought the game to a tie by halftime.

LHS had many great rebounds. Much like last season, senior Ruben Valdivia stood out as one of the top scorers. Him and junior Samantha Ostlee had several fast breaks to help the team get their big win.

LHS played a strong 2nd half, reaching a 22-18 lead by the end of the 3rd. They kept their momentum going and, though the final score was close, the lions were able to put ahead by six points at the end of the game.

The team has a tournament this Thursday from 8am – 2pm. Let’s wish them luck!
