Girls’ golf improves for regionals

On Wednesday, the girls’ golf team played a golf tournament at the Homestead Golf Course against all teams of the 4A Jeffco league.

This course was a lot shorter compared to previous ones than the team has faced, however not any easier. There were many places that could  have be troubling for many golfers, however the girls were able to pull through the difficult areas and shine in the tournament. With hard work, the team was able to beat Green Mountain, Conifer, Wheat Ridge and a handful of other teams as well.

“Personally, I did okay this tournament. I got a 96 and I ended up paring four holes, which is the most I’ve ever done at a tournament,” says junior Sydney Elder.

In addition to Elder competing strong, junior Meg Pratt and Midori McCartney dropped strokes, building the team confidence up and showing drastic improvements.

“Overall, our team is shaping up well and we are looking forward to going to regionals in two weeks,” adds Elder.

The next golf tournament will be on Monday, April 30 at Rolling Hills Golf Course.
