Baseball celebrates senior night

Thursday afternoon, the boys’ baseball team had a big win against Vista Peak, 7-2. It also happened to be senior night which made the victory extra special.

Vista PEAK came out strong and scored two runs in the first two innings, fortunately for the Lions, that was all the scoring they accomplished over the course of the game.

LHS had a huge fourth inning and scored six runs.

“We really came out strong in the fourth inning and it was one after another, people were making great contact with the bat,” said senior Jake Kissel.

After the big fourth inning, they kept their defense and pitching tight in order to shut down any offense Vista was trying to gain.

They capped off their victory with more run in the bottom of the sixth.

“It was a great victory for all of us especially for senior night, it was cool to be recognized and play that well,” said Kissel.

There were many family members and students that came to support the players and give gifts and flowers on the exciting night. The boys now enter a tournament this week for the a playoff possibility.
