Cross Country competes in Cheyenne Mountain Stampede

Friday August 25, the Littleton Cross Country team competed in the Cheyenne Mountain Stampede in Colorado Springs. LHS placed 10th out of 22 teams for both boys and girls 4A Varsity.

Seniors Christian Sapakoff and Christian Olsen did extremely well,  placing 14th and 22nd out of the 180 competitors.

Junior Hans Romaine competed in the boys open race, finishing just a few seconds away from his personal record from the last season.

“My goal for this season is to get below 19 minutes which I can hopefully get closer to next Friday,” said Romaine.

Also competing in an open race was junior Hailey Lockhart, who placed 7th.

“My goal is to be the number one varsity runner and break my personal record from last year and also unite the team a little bit more,” said Lockhart.

The LHS Cross Country team is the largest it has been in 5 years. They will compete again next Friday, August 31 at the Arapahoe Invite.
