Sources of Strength has been working all semester to give strength to all Littleton students. For their last campaign of the semester, the group decided to hand out gratitude journals during A and B lunches on Tuesday, December 11 and Thursday, December 13.
The purpose of these journals is to help students realize what they have to be thankful for and help them calm down before finals week.
“The gratitude journals are a great way to focus one’s attention on the positive. We can all think of one thing we are grateful for, but when we make a habit of thinking of and writing down something to be grateful for each day, really reinforces a positive mindset. Gratitude journaling is free, doesn’t take much time and can have a very positive impact on our physical and psychological health, enhances empathy and reduces aggression, and improves self-esteem. Sharing a resource like this with the school is what Sources of Strength is all about,” said adult leader Katie Smith.
Many journals were given out by the Peer Leaders during the lunches on Tuesday, and there was a positive response. They’re a great way to be more positive, and it doesn’t hurt to try.
Don’t forget that you can still get your gratitude journal Thursday if you haven’t all ready!
