Super Bowl LII

The infamous Super Bowl LIII was on Sunday, February 3, 2019, ending with a winning score of 13 – 3 for the New England Patriots. The majority of the memorable moments came from the plays and the halftime show-which had featured Spongebob- but the Super Bowl is notorious for are the commercials.

This year the commercials took it to a different level from last year. Ranging from the Pepsi commercial with the humorous Steve Carrell and Cardi B to the Doritos commercial with the throwback of the Backstreet Boys and Chance the Rapper. These combinations appealed to the current youth and made sure that you wouldn’t leave the room the moment they started.

Not only were there commercials on food or snack products but there were also some perfectly made beauty and store advertising. For instance, the Walmart commercial involved the appearances of movies we all love including Ghostbusters, Jurassic Park, Scooby Doo and more. It had appealed to both older audiences and the modern at the same time.

An Olay commercial created suspense until the end where it revealed what it was really about. Having an intense murder chase turns into a commercial about “#KillerSkin” is something that will for sure give you the urge to go out and buy skin care products.

The Super Bowl commercials are always memorable and get people talking and as well give entertainment to all. It allows for the usual boring commercials to finally be more entertaining and instead of leaving the room, it makes us want to stay and watch.
