Prom in The Secret Garden

Littleton High School’s Junior-Senior prom was held at the Denver Botanical Gardens at Chatfield, on Saturday, April 27. With the theme of Secret Garden, flowers, ranging from roses to lavender, and shrubbery surrounded the beautiful outside location. Though this theme might not be related to the novel, this year’s prom was classy, colorful, and radiant.

The white lights strung around the trees and walkways complemented the well-executed decorations by the junior Student Council, who planned the whole event.

On the dance floor, the music varied from “Bohemian Rhapsody” to “Gas Pedal”, and everyone’s music taste was expressed by the DJ. At one point during the night, there was even a little bit of crowd surfing that helped all the attendees feel the exciting energy that the event encapsulated.

On the back patio, there was room for those who wanted a break from dancing. There were games like Jenga and cornhole, as well as a restful place to sit and smell the flowers. Most of the dancing, however, took place in the barn where drinks and dessert were served.

While some took the theme in stride, others used the secret garden theme to find the perfect outfit to wear. This includes Junior Mac Flanagan, one of the royalty nominees, who dressed accordingly in a suit with a classy leaf print and definitely was one of the sharpest dressers there.

After getting to vote the second time around, the winners of Senior Royalty were Ryder Gathright and Sophie Groustra, and the Junior winners were Grace Greenly and Logan Ralph.
