13th Floor Haunted House

13th Floor Haunted House is one of the supposed “world famous” haunted houses in Colorado. It’s one of the most well known haunts in Colorado and it always has a large amount of hype during the Halloween season. This years themes include a scary laboratory experiment gone wrong, clowns (specifically IT) and Stranger Things. The actual haunted house has a section for each specific theme that you enter as you walk through the haunt. The actual transitions between each theme make it as if your are literally walking into another house regardless of it being in the same space.

Once you arrive to the haunt there are characters running around scaring people waiting in line and typically there are performers to make the wait more fun. The line typically is a long line because of how the haunted house is set up to make sure visitors are not running into each other in the house. Regardless of this 13th Floor does make sure that wait is not painful and still enjoyable. Be sure to wear warm clothes though, it does get cold.

The atmosphere of the haunted house feels as if you are in a Hollywood movie set. You can see how it was built around you and where each wall ends because they don’t actually reach the ceiling of the building and everything in the haunt feels like a prop and part of a set. It is terrifying how real it feels, especially with the actors.

13th Floor also offers more events that you can add to your ticket. They offer mini games, a lounge and food and a new attraction where you go through a haunted house where you cannot see where you are going and have to rely on your sense of smell, feel and sound. These are definitely fun add-ons if you feel the need to do more after you go through the main haunted house.

13th Floor is a must go during the Halloween season if you’re in the mood for a scare. It’s definitely a terrifying experience to experience with your friends and loved ones and gives you something to talk about with the atmosphere, makeup and effects. They also offer their sister-house Asylum, which is supposedly even more terrifying if you feel like 13th Floor was not scary enough.
