Senior Asher Morrisroe has been involved in theater and music throughout high school, and when he leaves Littleton this spring to go to college, he plans to continue his musical passion. Morrisroe will be attending Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee in the fall and intends to major in audio engineering and minor in music business.
Morrisroe explains why he chose Belmont University.
“When I was looking at colleges, I kind of wanted to find someplace new and different so part of the appeal of Belmont for me was not only being able to be in a new state but be completely surrounded by a new environment. There are very different people down there and a very different way of life. I also thought it was an amazing music school and I want to go do more music, so there’s no better opportunity for me,” said Morrisroe.
Morrisroe outlines how his past experiences with audio engineering have guided his decisions.
“I’ve always kind of wanted to do audio engineering, I have a bunch of friends who are sound designers and producers who showed me all of their equipment and stuff and it looked like such a fun job. It’s open to a lot of stuff, you can audio engineer for music, you can do movie soundtracks, you can influence how a movie sounds with footsteps and everything. It’s a really unique job that calls to me in a way and I’ve always wanted to do something of that sort,” said Morrisroe.

His two years of experience in the student band, Major Motion Picture, inspired him to pursue music in college, and one day turn it into a career.
“If I didn’t join the band, I don’t think I’d be doing music right now. They influenced me in such a way that made me think differently about how I can play guitar and how I can listen to music. It just really ignited that passion in my life,” said Morrisroe.
Beyond music, Morrisroe has been a prominent figure in Littleton theater. He was involved in the most recent musical, The Wedding Singer, and he also won the best actor award last year for his performance as George Hay in the production Moon Over Buffalo.
Morrisroe shares his goals for college.
“Finding a good friend group is the most important thing. I’m gonna be with a bunch of other people who are dealing with the same thing so I think I’ll be able to find some people. As well as just being able to be in the college experience, I want to go to events and I want to go see some music festivals. I want to be a part of college life and live it as much as I can.”
