August 26th, last Monday night, LHS varsity girls volleyball put on their jerseys for the first game of the season against Kennedy High School.
Three games were played to complete the match. All of these girls performed very well, whether on the sidelines cheering for their teammates, or working hard to win the match on the court.
Junior Camryn Alfstad, the team captain, has been on varsity for all three years she has been at LHS. Alfstad started the game by serving and earning three points for the team, two of which were aces. They started strong right from the beginning and won the first game 25-7.
Littleton was down 13-15 during the second game until Senior Sarah Lamey made an amazing kill to get the ball back for Littleton. After recovering the ball, LHS ended up winning the second game as well, with the score being 25-18.
During the third game, outside hitter Junior Emma Bird earned many points for the team with her spikes throughout the whole match. She won the final game for her team with an ace while serving.
Alfstad shared her thoughts after the game about how she feels it went:
“I think today’s game went really well. I think we did really good for our first time playing together. I am very excited for the season and I think we have a very good team.”
Congratulations to our girls volleyball team for an exciting game and a great start to the season!
