Volleyball Senior Night: An Emotional End

The Littleton Lions varsity volleyball team has been playing great this whole year. As the season came closer to the end, this past Thursday we commemorated our senior Lions. There are still a few games left so be sure to show up and support your lions!

Macey King #5 is a very talented and confident senior.

“High school flew by, it’s kind of sad and I am definitely gonna miss it. I think we are going to get a win tonight, and it definitely feels more like our family this year.”

The next senior on the Lions roster is Sydney Babcock #12

Babcock and Peables share a hug

“This year’s been incredible. My whole team is just so supportive and I feel like everyone is so close with each other and all we do is lift each other up and it’s so fun,” said Babcock.

When asked how she felt as a senior, Babcock responded, “It’s been four years of  my life, and I guess it’s been a big part of my life as well. Especially this year seeing as there are only four of us, I’m leaving a ton of people behind, so I’m gonna miss everyone that I leave behind a lot.”

Sarah Lamey #6 was a standout in Thursday’s game serving and recovering the ball perfectly.

“I don’t feel like it’s real, honestly, I mean, I still feel like a freshman sometimes. Also this year has been going by so fast, and I know everyone says that it goes by really fast, but like, I can’t believe that it is senior night.”

When asked about the volleyball season this year Lamey said, “It’s been really good. I think compared to last year we built a very strong community and especially since we have four teams this year and everyone is just so supportive of each other.”

And finally the last senior on the team is the talented and upbeat Vicky Whitney #11.

Whitney embraces the younger players on her team

“It’s kind of crazy, you never picture yourself being a senior, like every senior night when you’re walking with the other seniors, it’s kind of just surreal, but it’s exciting,” said Whitney.

A great job to the Lions who won all 3 sets to win the match!
