The Poms team placed 17 out of 22 in the 4A Poms Division at the State Competition on Saturday.
“It went a lot better than it did last year and we are so proud of how far we’ve come in one year. It was still not where we wanted to be, but it’s a good start for the next few years,” said senior Alexa Zasuly.
“I think we all connected super well throughout that week of preparation and practice and we all put out all of our energy…I ton’t think we could have done any better,” said freshman Karissa Branine.
The team is fairly small, and Karissa has plans to expand the team for next year.
“My goals are to definitely recruit more people to join the team, I must work as hard as I can and be really encouraging and friendly towards other dancers hoping to join the team or advance in their technique themselves,” said Branine.
As seniors finish their last season, they appear hopeful for next year’s team.
“I know that the girls who stay on the team next year will continue to bring the same dedication, which will continue to grow withe each new year,” said Zasuly.
