As it does every year, Colorado’s most talented Thespians gather in downtown Denver to watch productions, win awards and connect with high schools across the state. Our troupe 83 heads to the Colorado Convention Center from December 12th-14th for the annual Thespian Convention, otherwise known as Thescon.
Almost every individual who performed a monologue or song in their event was scored as “Superior” which is the second-highest score and very hard to achieve. Along with this, our tech relay team won 3rd place out of all the schools that competed.
The most successful takeaway from Thescon was our troupes one-act seen of “21 Chump Street” which lead them to beat every other competing team, qualifying them for the National Thespian Competition.
As far as the social aspect of Thescon goes, all the 6,000 students from all over the state who attended got to participate in workshops together and supported each other in their respective productions.
LHS’s Thespian Troupe 83 dominated this convention proving their talent in stagecraft, acting, singing, and overall talent. To go support the troupe, go see their upcoming productions including Urine Town this spring.
