LHS has many service clubs and projects that are available to students to participate in. Here is what the service clubs have been doing to prepare for the holidays.

Holiday decorations include paper snowflakes and presents made by students.

National Honors Society

NHS has been collecting canned food since returning from Thanksgiving break and members contribute to their assigned team in a competition format. The collection has not ended yet but club sponsor Ms. Adams-Berger hopes it will be as successful as the truck and SUV full of donations collected last year. The food will first be donated to local families and then will go to Meals on Wheels or the Foodbank of the Rockies. NHS members also recently decorated the math hallway for the holidays.

Key Club

Key Club has recently collected toys and winter clothing items for the Journey Christmas store. The store allows parents with financial hardship to pick out toys for their children. Key Club has also recently decorated the World Language hallway and is currently collecting gift cards from King Soopers, Walmart, or Safeway for $25 or $50 which will be distributed to the counseling office and given to LHS families.

LEOs Club

LEOs Club has recently decorated the upstairs hallway for the holidays along with planning to volunteer for Operation Christmas Child in Aurora which is an organization that fills shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, and school supplies to help children in need.

Girl Up

Girl Up recently made blankets to be distributed to women at Housed Working and Healthy which is a nonprofit that provides people experiencing homelessness with job training. Club members made 13 blankets overall for this project. President Eliana Joy Volin and other members also remain committed to keeping period products stocked in the bathrooms which is an ongoing project to help LHS students in need.
