Back in 2008, TV show writer Vince Gilligan had an idea for a show about a chemistry teacher who’s diagnosed with cancer and has only 2 years to live becoming a methamphetamine dealer and his journey into an evil life. The show is called Breaking Bad and it won several awards and became one of the most successful shows in television history.
When the series ended in 2013, many fans of the show still wanted more. Vince and co-writer Peter Gould then started brainstorming a spin-off prequel to the series. The series would follow the past of one of the most famous characters in the show, the sarcastic and quick-witted criminal lawyer Saul Goodman (Jimmy McGill).
The show “Better Call Saul” first aired in 2015. Most people (while still enjoying it) saw that the pacing was much slower than Breaking Bad and really delved into the past of Jimmy McGill and his transition into Saul Goodman.
The last airing of the show was in April 2020 and ended on a cliff-hanger of the 5th season. The series action (in my opinion) builds up over the series and makes the more impactful moments even more stunning.
A 6th season has been worked on for around 2 years and is set to come out on April 18th, 2022. It will be the final season of Better Call Saul and a lot of people have theories as to what will happen next. Will recurring characters make a comeback? How will it end? And much more about the finally.
I feel like (if you are interested in this show) you should watch Breaking Bad first, then the movie sequel “El Camino”, then Better Call Saul. I can agree that the Breaking Bad series is one of the best tv series of all time and everyone should at least watch Breaking Bad and see how great of a series it really is.
The great character development and interesting story it tells (in both shows) are unlike any other series and I personally am very excited to watch the 6th and final season of Better Call Saul.
