The class of 2022 has put in massive amounts of work to finish out the school year strong. To celebrate this, teachers nominated a small group of seniors to be placed in the hall of fame, the photo gallery outside the lobby near the science hallway. This year’s nominees are Alicia Chavez, Gwen Fitzsimmons, Lane Greenly, Megan Montgomery, and Grady Redding. These students all represent the very essence of Littleton High School and have gone above and beyond in both their academic and extracurricular lives. All of our nominees are planning to go to college next year and have many great things ahead of them.

Our first Nominee Grady Redding is going to Dartmouth College and majoring in biochemistry and mathematics next year and says he has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Littleton. “To me, this award represents the culmination of 4 years of hard work and dedication. I couldn’t have done all of this without the support of my family, friends, teachers, coaches, and all their help along the way. The last 4 years have been a blast. I’ve met so many new people and made many lifelong friends along the way. I have had the opportunity to continue to do the things I love while getting to try new things. I have so many great memories from Littleton and I’m excited to make more,” said Redding.
He noted that it’s important to foster a positive high school experience. “To all my future nominees I would give the following advice: Enjoy your time at Littleton, you only get to be in high school once. Although you may be eager to graduate and just be done, you will have a much more enjoyable time if you spend your remaining time surrounded by your friends. It’s never too late to try something new and don’t be afraid to support your classmates,” said Redding.

Our second nominee Megan Montgomery is the last of the Montgomerys to graduate from Littleton High School, Megan is beyond ready to go to her dream school George Washington University. She will major in political communications and sociology and plans to continue her love for journalism.
“To me, this award is extremely special because it’s a symbol of the hard work I’ve accomplished and the impact I’ve had on others. Coming into high school, I had no idea who or what I wanted to be, and throughout it, I figured it out, but it took time and energy and this just shows me that my efforts haven’t been in vain and it makes me feel humbled to know that I’ll be recognized for it,” said Montgomery.
She noted that her familial connections to Littleton have shaped her experience. “My time at Littleton has been unique, I think it’s because I’ve had to watch all of my siblings go through high school and I’ve always been around LHS. I came in thinking I had to be exactly like them, but that wasn’t what I wanted, so I shaped my journey to be what I wanted it to be and I think that made my journey even more special,” said Mongomery.
“I would honestly tell future nominees to be proud of themselves. You are one of five people in your whole class who was nominated for this award, and you have a great chance at having your face up on the wall forever. I don’t think that’s set in for me yet and I don’t think it needs to, but just relish in your achievements and take this nomination as a sign of the hard work you’ve accomplished,” she said.

Our third nominee Alicia Chavez is going to Colorado College and plans to major as undecided, however, she is leaning towards practicing law.
“This award means a lot to me. I’ve worked really hard in high school and just being considered for this is an honor. It means that people recognize the work that I’ve done and I couldn’t be more grateful,” said Chavez.
“My time at Littleton high school was absolutely incredible. I have met so many amazing people, and friends that I know I’ll have for life. I wouldn’t change a thing about my high school experience and my time at LHS.”
Chavez emphasized the importance of holding respect for oneself. “The advice I would give to future nominees is to remember that you are worthy. You were chosen for a reason and you are capable of competing against extraordinary peers. Remember that, because of your hard work, you deserve to sit at the table. And even if you don’t win the award, your hard work will reap other awards and benefits later down the road,” she said.

Our fourth nominee Gwen Fitzsimmons is going to Rice University and majoring in biochemistry and mathematics. “It was super exciting to be nominated for this award! To me, being nominated shows that my teachers have recognized how hard I have worked throughout high school and my good attitude,” said Fitzsimmons.
“I loved Littleton and I’ve learned so much about myself in my time here. I will always remember the fantastic teachers that I’ve had, the friends I’ve made, and the chances to try new things,” she said.
Similar to Chavez, Fitzsimmons commented on the importance of honoring one’s efforts in school. “I would tell future nominees to be proud of themselves for working so hard and being so involved in high school! I would tell anyone to be themselves and not worry about what other people think, just get involved with whatever excites you!” said Fitzsimmons.

Our last nominee is Lane Greenly who is attending Chapman University and majoring in Business marketing and graphic design.
“This award is really cool, and it’s important to me. It means that I have made a positive impact on this school by being myself and working hard. My time at Littleton has been super amazing and I feel so blessed to be a part of the community here,” said Greenly.
Greenly made a point of allowing the coming-of-age experience to do its thing. “This time has been an amazing learning experience and has taught me a lot about life and making relationships. For my future nominees, I would say just be yourself and work hard and try to leave an impact just by being who you are,” said Greenly.
All of our beloved nominees will be recognized at the senior convocation on May 17th. Ms. Benton will talk about each of the nominees’ achievements and how they made an impact at Littleton High School. And as you can clearly see, all five of them have made a significant impact on Littleton High School and will be remembered for their hard work, dedication, and unique and positive spirits for a long time at our school.
