Over the past season, the boy’s swim team has accomplished many great feats. One of these is the qualification for the state-level competition. Junior Lars Romine is one of these students that has qualified for State Championship Men’s Swimming and here’s what he had to say regarding his success.
“I worked really hard, and I’ve been swimming since I was four. Swimming is probably one of my favorite things to do and it’s a great sport to get into. I love the culture surrounding swimming, it always pays off, and you always see results,” said Romine.
“I’ve been on varsity swimming for three years now. I’ve also done 3 years of JV Cross Country here at LHS,” he noted. Romine also has done 2 years of JV basketball and is Vice President of Garden Club (succeeding his brother Hans Romine [’22]). Here’s what he had to say about the future of LHS boys swimming.
“We have a lot of promising freshmen and sophomores. Coach Andy has been a big influence, probably one of the best coaches in the state. The team is very talented, very young, and very fun to be around,” said Romine.
“Our team works hard and we get results. A good amount of people have qualified for state this year, including me, and I think LHS boy’s swim has a very bright future.”
