Among our many new teachers at Littleton this year is Mr. Barritt, an addition to the Social Studies department.
At Littleton, Mr. Barritt is teaching World History, Civics, and Global Geography.
Mr. Barritt grew up in New York and got his master’s degree from a college in New York City. He taught for a few years in New York before moving out to Colorado.
“This is my 11th year teaching and my 8th year teaching in Colorado,” said Mr. Barritt.
Mr. Barritt chose to be a teacher at Littleton to be more involved in the community that he lives in as he hopes to start a family soon.
So far, Mr. Barritt has had a positive experience at Littleton, commenting that “Everyone has been really nice, the students have been really awesome and responsive. I’ve met a lot of cool new colleagues and it’s been a bit overwhelming to learn everyone’s names but everybody’s been very nice and understanding.”
When describing his teaching style Mr. Barritt commented that, “I have a lot of energy in the classroom so I think when they come in here, they should be ready to have a very excited and energetic environment.”
At this time, Mr. Barritt doesn’t have plans to sponsor any activities but still wants to remain involved in other ways, “I like to be involved. I like to attend the different events and go to the musical, concerts, and sports games.”
Outside of school, Mr. Barritt describes that “I like to watch sports, I like to go hiking, I hang out with my dog a lot, and I like to snowboard a lot in winter.”
An interesting fact about Mr. Barritt is that “My dog’s name is Barbara, a person’s name that we gave to my dog.”
