Our beloved social worker Mrs. Adams-Berger is “graduating” with the class of 2022. Although this will be a bittersweet goodbye, Mrs. AB is moving on to do more fantastic things and take steps towards a life beyond Littleton High School. She has made an incredible impact on our school and will forever be remembered as one of the most supportive adults in the building who made students’ well-being and mental health her priority.
“First I will say, and this isn’t an ego thing, but I’m telling people I’m graduating because I’m ending this chapter in my career in education, I’m actually not done working. I’m taking a gap year to travel and to take care of my family,” said Adams-Berger.
Mrs. AB plans to have a relaxed yet action-packed gap year filled with spending time with family and friends. She is particularly excited to travel in the upcoming months and have a more flexible schedule in the summertime.
“I have 6 very close family members between the ages of 81-90 that all live independently except for two so I plan to help support them and make sure they have things they need for their current chapter of living. I also have some traveling adventures planned, the highlight so far is doing a 10-day rafting trip in the Grand Canyon. I am also looking forward to not getting up at 4:30 am every morning before work in order to make a 6:00 am yoga class. It will be nice to have a slightly different schedule. I’m really looking forward to having time for friends, family, and the other things that I love,” said Adams-Berger.
Although she’ll miss the LHS community, Mrs. AB is ready to move on from education and start a new chapter in her career in social work.
“I’m really an accidental educator, I have been in clinical practice for many years before coming to education. I will stick to doing different types of social work, I’m interested in getting back into hospice work, it’s really sacred work for me and I’m really comfortable with it so that’s probably something I will do in the future,” said Adams-Berger.
Despite being ready to move on from her career at LHS Mrs. AB said she will definitely miss the environment of a high school and interacting with students.
“I’ll miss the laughter, the dress code violations, or telling kids to watch their language in the hallway. I will miss the rawness and brutal honesty of students that’s always right there in front of me. There’s not a lot of pretense in this building and I love doing that type of human interaction. It doesn’t feel like work, it feels like helping each other get through,” said Adams-Berger.
Although Mrs. AB will be greatly missed across the student and staff bodies, we are all excited to see her enter the next amazing chapter in her life and will cherish the time she spent with us here at Littleton High School.
