Boys basketball lose to Evergreen 55-61 after display of hard work

On Wednesday night, the boys’ basketball team lost 55-61 to Evergreen after a great display of hard work and grit. After beating Evergreen last time, the boys were hopeful and ready going into this game.

“We felt pretty solid, we beat them up in Evergreen, so it kind of felt like we had it and we were energetic,” said junior Reid Fornstrom.

Their record is now 7-11 and the boys want to keep working. In this game, they felt like their hustle was good and they want to keep that going through the rest of the season.

“We hustled in that game a lot so I feel pretty confident that we could win the next game,” said senior Jakob Bubelis.

In the first half, the Lions were behind 29-38, but in the third quarter, things began to intensify and they were able to close the gap in the score. During the third, they ramped up the pace of the game and the crowd was right along with them. They went into the final quarter with a score of 40-45, but ended the game with 55-61.

The Lions are impressed with the hustle they showed in this game and are determined to keep it up through the rest of the season.

“I think we need to play better defense throughout the game and look for better shots and pass it around and hopefully we can make the playoffs.” said Fornstrom.
