The LHS boys golf season is coming to an end, and the team had a memorable year. This year, the team consisted of players that were younger than they have been in the past.

Coach Jared Prince said a highlight for him was “watching a really young team get better and better”.

A majority of the players this year were underclassmen, and Prince is excited to have these players on the team for the next couple of seasons. There had been noticeable improvement in the team as a whole from the start of the season to the end, and many players had notable moments throughout this season.

Sophomore Thomas Kusner played his second season for LHS this year, and he accomplished a lot. He made second team all conference, and was one shot away from making first team all conference as a sophomore.

When asked what some memorable team moments were from the season, Kusner said “Howell Cup was pretty fun even though we didn’t win it”.

The Howell Cup is a scramble between the LPS high schools. The team spent the day competing and growing their skills. Coach Prince mentioned how the team kept moving up during the season, and they continuously showed growth each time they competed.

Another player that had a memorable season was sophomore Levi Flanagan. This was his second season playing for LHS.

When asked about his experience with the team as a whole, Flanagan said one of his favorite things about the team is “how young we are and the potential of how good we could be in our senior year”.

The boys golf team had a great season, and they look forward to spending the next couple of years practicing and improving as a team.
