It’s no secret that every extracurricular activity at LHS has been impacted by COVID, but this is especially true for choir.
Their last concert was in December of 2019, almost two years ago! Not only was it a choir concert, but the orchestra also performed at the beginning.
The theatre was packed to watch the orchestra perform. They played four songs entitled Balalaika, Te Dije, themes from La La Land, and Maharaja. There were violin solos by Grace Amine and Kyle Bloom.
Members of the choir were very excited about their first performance in almost two years.
“It’s been forever and it was just really nice to get back up there and sing … It was weird to be back on the risers and have a whole theatre full of people,” says DJ Bowman who is in LHS singers, concert choir, and troubadours.

“I was really excited to show all the audience members what all of our hard work has come to and why we have worked so hard to get here,” says Grace Muench, a member of concert choir.
All five choirs performed. Some of the songs included Fly Away Home and Ad Astra sung by concert choir and Changes sung by Syrens, among many others.
“My favorite part of choir is the community that it builds,” Muench states.
The next choir concert is on December 7th and the next orchestra performance is on November 16th.
