On Friday, March 19, our Littleton Lions Varsity Football team kicked off spring break with their first football game against Denver West. The team fought hard, but unfortunately lost with a score of 0-26.

The game started out rough for the Lions, down by one touchdown. Denver West was already up, before the first quarter was even halfway over.
“I think we had some great plays but it wasn’t enough,” said senior Emerson Smith.
Even with some great team work on offense, the lions were unable to make a touchdown the entire game.
For halftime, the marching band got to perform their show, “Sweet Dreams” for one of the first times all year.
This game also allowed students to watch the match, something we haven’t been able to do all school year. Although there were not many students, it was still exciting to have spectators.

This game was also unique in the fact there was a fifth quarter, so the JV team had a chance to play. Although the quarter ended with a score of 0-12, they still got the opportunity to play in this unusual school year.
The football team has been working hard in their off-season and are excited for what this season holds. Their next game is over spring break on Thursday, March 25.
“I think we’re only going to get better from here,” said Smith. The team has a positive outlook for the rest of the season hoping to remain strong on offense and defense.
