On Wednesday, September 16, freshman elections were held remotely during Seminar. The freshmen class elected Vinny Anderson and Luca Ellcessor as President and Vice President respectively, as well as Owen McGough as Public Relations Officer.

“I had been thinking about running since last year when I was in the Early High School program, but really it was just running with Luca and Luca reaching out and sort of pushing me to want to do it, I thought maybe I should because then if I was elected, all of my decisions would decide how people saw me in the school. That seemed kind of daunting but the very reason I decided to run was because of Luca reaching out but also because Littleton is an amazing community and as long as that diversity is pursued as much as possible, we have a lot of potential for how great we can make our class.” said Anderson.
Despite the alphabet split and hybrid model, Anderson and Ellcessor plan to make as many connections as possible with their fellow freshmen and to connect everyone with each other.
“I think especially now that we’re split in half there’s even more separating us, you most likely will not be talking to people from the other group very often and it kind of forms these separate groups, two groups. That’s not going to be very good for the school community as a whole because you may become divided on issues so I think it would be really helpful to connect the two somehow and get each other talking.” said Ellcessor.

In order to connect everyone, Ellcessor and Anderson want to make a survey for students to be able to recommend ideas and say something for them to get and make decisions based on the results of the survey.
“I like the social aspect, but what I am hoping to see is that we are able to, especially in second semester, with the chance that we will be in person, that we’ll connect with one another. I’m more excited for the following years because with how weird this year is, it’ll be really interesting to see if we have formal introductions with each other and form those connections and relationships.” said Anderson.
Along with many other plans to improve the connection between students, the president and vice president have lots of other plans and look forward to many things for the rest of the year.
