Rising UK pop sensation Freya Skye has produced her new 2025 single, “Can’t Fake It.” With a glittery, peppy sound, vulnerable lyrics, and immaculate Gen Z vibes, Skye is truly a hidden gem. Her sound is reminiscent of Olivia Rodrigo, Addison Rae, Nessa Barrett, with a sprinkle of Sabrina Carpenter. “Can’t Fake It” tells the story of a messy, troubling ex-relationship. With a fast-paced beat, a Taylor Swift infused bridge, and an infectiously catchy melody, Skye has real potential to bloom into a mainstream idol.
The single’s music video is totally 2000s, with girl group-esque choreography. The video is set in an office overthrown by Skye and her girls, with tons of sassy, girly details. Skye clearly loves performing, and her personality is so bright and charming in the “Behind the Scenes” video. Her looks, with Regina George blonde hair and office-inspired outfits, are always on point. As a whole, “Can’t Fake It” is a fresh new find, with fabulous graphics and energy.
As well as being signed with Disney, Skye was selected by the UK to represent them in the Junior Eurovision Contest in 2022. She also has dipped into the acting field with the soon-to-be-released Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires. The singer has also released several other singles in the past, including “Lose My Head” which has over 2 million plays on Spotify. Hopefully we will see much more of Skye in the future as she enters the pop world!
