Introducing the newest math teacher at LHS: Ms. Kaye!

LHS has had a surge of new teachers, and with Mr. Kennicutt moving to teach science, a new math position was needed. Thankfully, Ms. Kaye is here to help! Here are some things about Ms. Kaye:

With both of her parents being math teachers, she grew up loving math. At the moment, she teaches both Algebra I and Geometry part-time. Ms. Kaye loves teaching kids and is always eager to witness what she calls the “a-ha” moment; when the students realize how to solve a problem and become more engaged in learning.

“I live in the community, and I wanted a job in my community. I love higher level math so I wanted to teach at a high school,” said Ms. Kaye when asked about why she chose to spend her first year as a teacher teaching at LHS.

“I want to teach all the math classes here! I am looking forward to teaching the classes I teach now and other math classes in the future!” she said.

Ms. Kaye’s excitement is a hopeful indicator of what the new teachers of this era may bring.
