As of last night, LHS Football completed their first game of the season at the LHS Stadium. Playing against the Jefferson High School Saints, the game started at 7:00.
Before the game, the stadium took a moment of silence for a player’s late father.
In the first quarter, senior James Horton scored a touchdown. For the duration of the game, the crowd stayed enthusiastic and energetic.
By halftime, the teams were in a stalemate of 6 to 6, having both scored a touchdown. While the teams strategized, LHS Poms, Marching Band, and Color Guard performed for the crowd.
During the second half, sophomore Connor Pollock scored the second LHS touchdown of the game.
However, at the end of the game, the score was 12 to 36, with Jefferson winning.
Despite the loss, LHS football is sure to continue doing their best throughout the season.
“You’re always looking for the other result, you know, so that part of it is, there’s always that side. But I was super proud of every single kid that stepped onto the field,” said head coach Chad Keopke.
