Meet the New Teachers at LHS!

Here at LHS, our community is constantly changing and growing. We are welcoming several new faces to the LHS staff this year, and we can’t wait to get to know them! Come along with us as we learn about these important new staff members.

Audra Binney

Language Arts Teacher Audra Binney

The first person we welcomed to our Littleton family was Audra Binney. She is a new Language Arts teacher, along with a staff instructional coach.

When asked about her favorite things about LHS, she said that, “It’s really cool to see how many staff members are so professional, brilliant, and are wonderful leaders in the building, who continually want to learn and become better.”

After working at Arapahoe High School for 14 years, Binney made the change to LHS because of the inclusive, tightly-knit community.

Family is very important to her. She has two kids, ages five and three. Her husband is a Fire Captain at West Metro Fire.

Megan Nordlander

Megan Nordlander - Counseling Office

Megan Nordlander works in the Counseling Office. She has worked as a registrar for many years, but it is her first year at LHS as one!

“I like that LHS is an IB school and has a reputation for being kind and inclusive. I also like that it’s a smaller school.”

Nordlander has three kids who are older, 21, 19, and 17, along with one who actively attends LHS. She enjoys walking along the Highline Canal, and being outside.

She is always here to help, specifically Seniors who need to get records for college.

Alex Anttila

Alex Anttila came from Runyon Elementary School, and now she is working with the PACE Program at LHS. She is intrigued by the theater program, and is looking forward to her first year!

She loves coffee, food, musicals, hanging out with family, exploring new places, and, of course, the community here at LHS.

“I’m excited to get the year started, and I hope I can connect with a bunch of new people and people can view me as a safe person.”

Laura Puchino

Laura Puchino - Counseling Office

Along with Ms. Nordlander, Laura Puchino also has an office in the Counseling Center where she welcomes and helps students.

She is part of the community, lives nearby, and loves working with high school students because they are young adults and understand life better. Because Puchino is a younger teacher, she feels like she can relate and connect with students in a different way. “I understand the things they are going through because I just went through them.”

When asked about what she loves about LHS, she said she loves the students, and how many different and unique individuals there are here.

She is the assistant volleyball coach, and some of the staff were her teachers when she used to attend LHS.

Puchino loves to spend time with her family, be active, watch sports and go to concerts.

“My door is always open if you need an extra support person.”

Dr. Steven Glickman

Dr. Steve Glickman

Steven Glickman is a Language Arts teacher, and he is very excited for his first year of teaching!

He talked about his first impression of LHS, and says that “[LHS] seems like a school that is very committed to helping every kid graduate.”

He has been married for 22 years, with 2 kids who are both in high school. He loves the outdoors, hiking and camping as much as he can. He loves live music at Red Rocks and movies, along with horror books, especially by author Steven King.

It is his first year teaching ever. He had a massive career change, previously working as a roofing salesman. He went to Metro State for his teaching degree.

He is loving it at LHS so far, and thinks that it is a great place to be!

Samantha Saunders

Samantha Saunders is a Language Arts teacher, and she has always been interested in LHS and LPS as a whole.

She chose LPS because her Dad was a teacher at Euclid Middle School for 25 years. She was also a middle school teacher at a JeffCO Middle School prior to her coming to LHS. She wanted to get back into High School, and when a position at LHS opened, she was excited, because she heard a lot of great things about the school! She loves working with the kids and the staff, and says that they’re all very nice.

At home, she has two little kids, a 4 year old daughter and 3 year old son, so a lot of her time is spent doing stuff with them outside of school. She loves hiking and going to concerts with her husband, as well as making crafts.

Her favorite part of her job is the kids and building relationships with them, because they change the way she sees the world.

We are so excited about welcoming these new Lions to our community!
