Beloved history teacher Ms. Prestel announced that she’s retiring at the end of this school year. Not only did she teach history, she announced home games for sporting events, and was an instrumental role in school spirit events for many years.
Her favorite memory while at LHS was starting the long lasting tradition of a senior breakfast, where all the seniors get together at the end of the year to celebrate graduation. Similarly, another one of her favorite memories was the first time doing the senior tunnel. This is another one of her ideas that has become a long standing tradition.
Announcing home games was a staple in her teaching career. Her favorite memory when announcing a sporting event was the very first football game she did. That’s when she realized she was going to do this for a long time.
“Growing up in a football family it was a great moment to realize this is something I’ve always wanted to do”.
Ms. Prestel loved the experience of teaching history to all grade levels, and said it was the best experience possible despite a few hiccups along the way.
“I decided to be a teacher when my favorite teacher ever, was my history teacher, and it was everything I thought it would be and more” said Prestel.
Ms. Prestel is going to be remembered as a huge help in school spirit, and she is forever going to be cemented in the Littleton High School community.
