My Review on Penn Cole’s The Kindred’s Curse Sage

The Kindred’s Curse Saga, written by Penn Cole, is a romantic, epic, fantasy, fiction series that has grown immensely in popularity this year.

The three currently released books are Spark of the Everflame, Glow of the Everflame, and Heat of the Everflame. The forth, concluding, highly anticipated book is titled Burn of the Everflame and is expected to be released by 2026.

The story follows Diem Bellator in a world divided between the children of gods, the descended, and mortals. Diem is a simple, mortal, healer, normal in every way except for one. Her grey eyes lost the traditional brown color in a childhood illness. Six months ago her mother disappeared without a trace. On the same night a strange women advised Diem to stop taking a red fiery powder called flameroot, that keeped her disease from returning. Without the flameroot Diem develops strange unexplainable powers, much like those of the descended. After a danger encounter with one of the descended where he murders his own child, she begins to fight with a group of rebels against the children of the gods, but what if she is the thing she’s trying to destroy?

The first book of the series, Spark of the Everflame, is slow moving, and pointless at times but is worth it to get to the rest of this amazing book saga. Throughout the books the plot makes many changes, twists, and turns. Each one makes you second guess everything right along with Diem. Through it all her friends stick with her and her mission to bring down the descendants current way of ruling.

The Kindred’s Curse Sage shows true trust, faith, the risks you must take to find the truth, and the lies that you may even be telling yourself. This is a great book for all readers interested in fantasy worlds, divided societies, romance, and self discovery in reading. This series can be found at your nearest library, available with kindle unlimited subscription, or purchase it from Amazon, Target, or Barnes and Noble.
