During Christmas over winter break, I went to Iowa with my family and my dog JoJo.
On the way, we stopped in York, Nebraska where I had vanilla ice cream at Chances R and saw a water tower and a cool rainbow. When we got to Iowa, we stayed with my Grandma and Grandpa. While we were there, I went swimming five times and the pool had an enclosed yellow, orange, and red waterslide that I went down 10 times. I also played ping pong at a friend’s house while I was there. One night, my parents, grandparents, and I went to dinner at a restaurant named Brown Bottle, I had spaghetti and salad with cucumber dressing and lemonade.
When my family got home from our Iowa trip, we had a New Year’s Eve party at my house. My friend Mary Nell came to my party and we dressed fancy, I wore a soft and fluffy blue dress. We counted down from 10 right before the clock hit midnight, and we yelled, “Happy New Year!” Some of my New Year’s resolutions were to have fun, publish more articles for The Lions Roar Now, and swim more this year.
